Frequently Asked Questions (Spring Baseball) 

1. When are sign ups? 
   Online registration opens in December

2. Where are sign ups? 
   Online - Link will be posted on homepage when registration is open

3. How long is the season? 
   Mid-March thru Mid-May

4. When do practices start? 
   Practice will begin soon after registration is complete.

5. How many practices and games are there per week? 
   Teams are allowed 4 events (games and/or practices) per week,with 1-2 games per week

When are games?

    Monday, Tuesday, Thursday,and Saturday
    T-ball times are 6:00pm and 7:00pm
    7/8U   times are 6:00pm and 7:30pm
    9/10U  times are 6:00pm and 7:45pm
    11/12U times are 6:00pm and 8:00pm
    13/14U times are 6:00pm and 8:00pm

6. Where are games and practices? 
    Games are played at Richfield and Cross Timbers parks

7. What equipment do players need? 
   Glove, rubber cleats (no steel cleats allowed except in 13/14U),
   athletic cup,personal bat and helmet.

8. Can my player be put on a team with his or her friends? 
   There is no guarantee.The teams in 3/4U,efforts are made to honor all request.
   In the other leagues, players are placed on teams through a coach’s draft.
   NOTE: Returning players from their previous Spring team will be placed back on that team.

9. What other costs are involved? 
   Teams purchase shirts/hats and may decide to purchase
   matching pants, belts and socks.

10. Does everyone get a trophy? 
    T-Ball 3-4U and 5-6U receives a participation trophy.
    7U-14U leagues trophies go to 1st place teams.

11. What is NYSCA certification for coaches? 
    It is a nationally recognized organization and ensures that coaches
    are trained.
    All coaches must be certified by taking an online class through NYSCA.

1. When are sign ups? 
   Online registration will be open from Mid-July to Late-August.

2. Where are sign ups? 
   Online - Link will be posted on homepage at ryasports.com
   when registration is open

3. How long is the season? 
   Mid-August thru October required to be off the fields by Nov. 1st.

4. When do practices start? 
   Practice will begin soon after registration is complete.

5. How many practices and games are there per week? 
   Teams are allowed 4 events (games and/or practices) per week.

6. When are games? 
   Monday, Tuesday, Thursday,and Saturday

7. Where are games and practices? 
   Games are played at Richfield and Cross Timbers Parks, practices are determined
   by the head coach and field availability. 

8. Can my player be put on a team with his or her friends? 
   Yes they can in the Fall! We try and honor all team requests
   but cannot guarantee that every team will be able to accommodate
   all of the requests.Teams can be created by a coach as long as that
   team has no more than eight players on the team.
   Each team roster will be reviewed. Commissioners will also put players
   on teams as there are no player looks or drafts in the Fall.

9. What equipment do players need? 
   Glove, rubber cleats (no steel cleats allowed except in 13/14U),
   athletic cup, personal bat and helmet.

10. What other costs are involved? 
    For the Fall, RYA provides facilities, umpires and game balls.
    Teams will be responsible for their own uniforms as the Fall registration
    fee does not cover any uniform expense.  

11. Does everyone get a trophy? 
    Trophies are reserved for our Spring T-Ball participants, Divisional Champions,
    Tournament Champions and Finalists.

12. What is NYSCA certification for coaches? 
    It is a nationally recognized organization and ensures that coaches are         trained.
    All coaches must be annually certified by taking an online class  Through   NYSCA.
