Interested in Coaching?

Coaching kids is a rewarding experience and a way to give back to your community. We have parents and non-parents who find coaching so rewarding that they come back to coach year after year. If you are a parent coach, it is a great experience that both you and your kid will remember for a lifetime. When you are selected to coach and you have a kid playing in the League, you are guaranteed to have your kid on your team.

We are always looking for coaches and assistant coaches who think they would like to volunteer and make a difference in kids' lives. We place great emphasis on our coaching ranks, recognizing that our league would not be what it is without their exceptional efforts.

To be considered as a coach or assistant coach simply fill out a background check application and email the respective Sports Director for the sport you wish to coach. You must pass a background screen at a cost of $20.50 and will need to complete the required NAYS training for your sport.

Penalty for ejection will be the remainder of that game and the next game (scheduled or make-up). The next game suspension may be appealed to the EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. If the offense is of a serious nature, the RYA Board may suspend the offender for one (1) year or longer. The RYA Board decision will be final.

2. Each coach shall agree to abide by the decisions of the RYA Board and shall cooperate with them in providing a wholesome recreational program for players. All coaches shall agree to abide by RYA's Code of Ethics.

3. Each coach shall maintain a positive rapport between the RYA Board and his team.

4. Each coach will be responsible for selecting and utilizing his/her assistant coaches, as well as their conduct. Each coach is accountable to the RYA Board. Each coach is responsible for the conduct of his/her parents and coaches and can be disciplined for the conduct of his team’s parents and coaches.  Likewise, the parents and assistant coaches shall also be held responsible for their respective actions/conduct and can be disciplined as well.

7. Each coach must notify his or her respective League Director or Vice Commissioner of his or her Primary Assistant Coach and optionally a Secondary Assistant Coach.
